Financial Considerations for Members

If a youth member took advantage of all the program offerings in any given year, the value of such activities, when compared to other programs, is in excess of $5,000.

The annual dues for the first youth member of a family are $520. Subsequent sibling member's annual dues are half price ($260). All the outdoor gear and special equipment is provided to members by TAASC, except for personal clothing and footgear. Dues are adjusted or waived for certain family situations.

Members typically provide their own food for trips based on menus planned in their cook groups. Members also pay for lodging and travel on longer out-of-state trips, which averages $600 annually for the older members, usually not Little Scouting Outward (ages 8-12).

The only other fixed expense is the annual two and a half day Wilderness First Aid course ($100) that is required of all TAASC members age 15 and older.
